The Magic Pond becomes available at Castle levels 4 and 6, and produces Essence needed to upgrade your heroes' talismans. Since there's only 2 available in a full kingdom, these resource buildings are considered more exclusive, so they tend to take a bit longer to upgrade (than say a Farm).
