Upgrading your Skill Trees incrementally improves your Heroes' stats and passive skills, giving you the ability to truly customize your hero to your liking.
As of the 8.0 Game Update, these are the current costs for each Skill in a hero's Skill Tree, based on the Star Rank tier within the tree that you are trying to upgrade:

The Skills[]
There are 11 standard skills that can be learned by EVERY hero in the game, regardless of their group.
In addition, each hero can also learn 4 passive skills based on the Hero Group they are aligned with. Instead of Talent Points, upgrading these skills will cost Giant Shards that you have collected from battling Giants.
These passive skills typically enhance your hero with a special battle effect that can be activated by chance when a certain action is performed.
More importantly, these passive skills are STACKED with each upgrade, meaning the activation chance is increased.

In this guide, the activation chance is denoted by a green +num% font, showing how much each upgrade will increase the percentage by. The game displays the chance percentage to the true odds.
