A hero's level in Puzzle Breakers is earned exclusively by spending these 3 resources: Food, Gold, and Power Stones.

Food Gold Power Stone

The base statistical growth when leveling is consistent for every respective hero, regardless of how many times you use them or the equipment they are wearing, etc. Meaning, the base stat increase for Player X's Grimes will be the exact same for every level of the Grimes hero for Player Z.

Tips[]

  • A good strategy for beginner players is to focus on getting their first team of 5 heroes to level 80, then 100, then getting a roster of 30 heroes to level 100.
  • Why? The cost increases are incredibly steep: to get any hero from 1 to 80 is roughly 920 power stones, 1.14 mil food, and 1.74 mil gold. To get from 80 to 100, it costs roughly double the food/gold mentioned above!
  • It's important to note that level 80 is where all of your hero's equipment slots are unlocked.

Levels and Star Rank[]

A hero's level is associated with its star ranking (see Heroes Main Page), mainly because each star ranking is capped to a maximum level. Reference the following table to see the maximum levels for the star rank of any hero.

Star Rank Max Level Hero Quality
1★ 40 Common
2★ 50 Common
3★ 60 Uncommon, Rare
4★ 80 Uncommon, Rare
5★ 100 Uncommon, Rare, Epic, Legendary, Mythic, Exclusive
6★ 140 Rare, Epic, Legendary, Mythic, Exclusive

Hero Leveling spreadsheet (1 to 200)[]

A while ago, I made a spreadsheet that detailed the precise cost for every Heroes level I've experienced (currently up to 200). These are costs in terms of food, gold, and power stones.
