Every hero in Puzzle Breakers belongs to a specific Hero Group, which aligns the hero to certain traits that can give them an advantage against specific enemies or combat situations. Hero Groups also help to quickly associate heroes to a certain strategy when viewing opposing teams.

There are currently 6 Hero Groups in the game.

Wanderers[]

According to the game, "These universal Heroes are a great addition to any team." In reality, these are mostly just your plain starters, as there are no Wanderer Group heroes above the Rare hero quality.

However, Wanderer heroes tend to have the most unique special skills in the game - for example, Eugene is the only hero with an ability that swaps the positions of 2 enemies...Angel of Mercy is the only hero with an ability that makes the team invincible...etc.

Kingdom Heroes[]

Kingdom Group heroes provide a combat bonus to fellow heroes when used in Clan Wars.

There are 5 different kingdoms that a hero aligns with:

  • The Kingdom of Astorus
  • The Kingdom of Toweron
  • The Kingdom of Ordan
  • The Kingdom of Lemessia
  • The Kingdom of Highguard

The Uncommon and Legendary hero qualities each have 10 Kingdom Group heroes; Rare, Epic, and Exclusive qualities each have 5 Kingdom Group heroes.

Sworn Enemies[]

Heroes in the Sworn Enemies Group have a special buff against Giants, allowing them to collect Hero Shards in battle. This makes these heroes particularly valuable, because hero shards are needed to upgrade the Passive Skills of a hero in the skill tree.

In Puzzle Breakers, there are 10 different Giants that a Sworn Enemy hero rivals:

The Epic, Legendary, Mythic, and Exclusive hero qualities each have 5 Sworn Enemy Group heroes - which seems to indicate that every Giant in the game currently has 2 Sworn Enemies.

Giant Slayers[]

Giant Slayers, like Sworn Enemy heroes, also have a special buff against Giants. In particular, they have special skills that provide a damage buff to attacking teams against Giants of a certain Element.

There are 10 Giant Slayer heroes. 2 for each of the 5 Elements: Fire, Nature, Ice, Light, and Darkness.

Rare and Exclusive quality heroes each have 5 heroes in the Giant Slayer Group.

Defense Heroes[]

Defense Group heroes specialize in defensive teams with abilities that give them a general advantage against most others, for both Raids and Clan Wars. Their abilities often have multiple effects when casted.

The following Hero Qualities have Defense Group heroes:

  • Uncommon with 4
  • Rare with 3
  • Epic with 6
  • Legendary with 2

Siege Heroes[]

Siege Group heroes are the direct counter to many of the Defense Group heroes in Puzzle Breakers. Their special skills negate the skill effects from the defending team, which often provides a boost in healing or damage.

Mythic and Exclusive heroes are the only ones that have Siege heroes; Mythic with 4 and Exclusive with 2.
