The one guide every new player wants to know about: how to level and rank up your Heroes via fusion and awakening!
Temple of Power[]

The Temple of Power makes hero fusion really really easy for you to upgrade your heroes. Each hero in the catalog is listed there, along with a % indicator showing how close you are to upgrading that hero.
Hero Fusions (and Awakening)[]
The way Puzzle Breakers hero upgrading works is somewhat similar to other "Merge"-idler games, where you take copies of lower-ranked heroes and combine them (with some extras) to upgrade into a higher-ranked version of that hero.
There are 4 distinct cost requirements for hero fusion, which vary at different ★ rankings:
The standard costs shown in the Fusion Requirements section are examples of the same cost amounts for ANY hero of a similar ★ rank.
For example, the amount of heroes/copies required to upgrade a handful of 4★ Gatekeepers to 5★ are the same for any other hero that you can find at 4★.
Base Hero[]

This is the primary hero that you are specifically trying to upgrade. The level, stats, equipment, and skill tree upgrades all carry on from this hero's rank to the next one.
- Typically, you'd have a 4★ hero at level 80 that you'll want to fuse to get to 5★. However, the ability to choose a base hero also means that you can choose to use a copy of that same hero, even if it's at level 1.
- The only reason you'd do this is to "reset" its development, i.e. perhaps you weren't happy with the skill tree on your level 80 Death Angel, so you chose another one instead.
- The stats for a hero are standard for every level, even AFTER upgrading. This means that it does not matter what level/stats/skill tree upgrades your "sacrificing heroes" may have - A 5★ fusion with three 3★ heroes at lvl 1 will have the same stats as a 5★ fusion with three 3★ heroes at lvl 60.
Base Hero Copies[]
Pretty self-explanatory; if you want to upgrade a certain hero, you'll need additional copies of that same one.
Sacrifice Heroes (6★ only)[]
This is a requirement that's specific to the fusion from 5★ to 6★. Each hero will have their own unique sacrifice hero requirement - for example, the hero fusion for Felix to get to 6★ would require one 5★ Aisha hero as a sacrifice.
Every other fusion that comes after 6★ is called an "Awakening", which seems to indicate that Sacrifice Heroes are no longer required after 6★.
Random Elemental Sacrifices[]
The remaining hero fusion requirement, which simply means that you would need to sacrifice a certain number of heroes that are of the ★ rank AND the element specified. As of now, every elemental sacrifice comprises of the same element as the base hero that will be upgraded.
